Natural-Looking Crowns Made While You Wait
If you’ve had a damaged tooth that required a crown, you know how it goes. The dentist prepares the tooth, takes an impression with goop that can gag you, and places a temporary crown that you have to wear for two weeks before you get the permanent crown installed. And if the fit isn’t just right, it has to be returned to the lab and you wait again. And add another visit to your schedule.
But now, that’s all changed. Our doctors can reduce that two-week waiting period and multiple office visits to a single visit with CEREC™! This computer-aided design and milling device allows us to create a permanent crown while you wait. We love making patients happy by skipping the two weeks and return visits! And they love skipping the goopy impressions and temporaries that can break or fall off. CEREC also enables us to satisfy patients seeking a long-lasting, esthetic alternative to silver or plastic fillings.
How does the process work? First we prepare the tooth, then use a digital scanner to take a precise impression of the tooth. That’s immediately displayed on a computer screen while we design the restoration. Then CEREC takes over and automatically creates the crown or filling, onlay, or inlay. Finally, we bond the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth.
All this makes going to the dentist much easier and faster, and who really wants to spend more time in the dental chair?
